Dress - Me and You and Everyone We Know

Last week I spent most of my nights out watching some of my friends' gigs and took some videos of them as well for the memory.

Wednesday, I was at the Strangeometry event in Route 196 and had a really nice time watching Outerhope perform their very own brand of nice
and quiet pop music. After them, Balloon Derby took the set with their bass-catchy Be My Lorraine song which is included in their 7 inch EP that
was released late last year. The Dorques played next with their trademarked geek rock/pop music. I say, they still play really good even though
their keyboardist and drummer is not present. Good thing they were able to get a sessionist for the drums or they may not have performed that
night.

Friday, I went to celebrate Morrissey's (formerly from The Smiths) 50th birthday by attending From Manchester to Manila (held at Sazi's Bar,
formerly Mayric's). It is a gig organized by Pogz, who sings with the band Dead Pop Stars and was considered the The Smiths of the Philippines.
The event was packed with people who loved Moz's music. I couldn't believe DPS did a 21 song set and everyone was all sweated out, dancing
and singing to the tunes from The Smiths and even Morrissey's newer albums. Everyone really had a swell time.

Sunday, is still a fun day. Went to Buzz Night at Club Dredd. I think there are 6 bands who performed that night. Had a chance to meet a lot of
common people in the scene. Saw Your Imaginary Friends perform with their new bassist Tanya and also they covered a song Burning from The
Whitest Boy Alive. Also had a chance to meet this new band called Dress. They are really nice and have a lot of potential with their music.
Slumbook also performed their ever so lovable pop songs and Soft Pillow Kisses also wowed us with their dose of shoegaze-indie pop sounds.

It was a really exciting week. And I don't mind doing it again anytime soon. But of course, I hope we'll be the ones playing next time. ;)
